Perfect look for a Mexican Modernism themed dinner
I was absolutely thrilled when the New York Botanical Garden invited me back to design a table for their renowned and stunning gala, The Orchid Dinner, held at The Plaza Hotel. This year’s theme was a striking departure from last year’s ‘Orchids in Fashion‘ (including my black and white look from last year), embracing the vibrant spirit of Mexican Modernism. The moment I heard the theme, my mind raced with images of bold colors, lush florals, and, of course, orchids. When I stumbled upon this stunning Borgo de Nor slip dress and matching cape, I knew instantly it would be the perfect ensemble to wear for an unforgettable evening celebrating the beauty of the NYBG.
See my look and table in motion, here! And, If you missed it, see my entire table design in collaboration with florist Ahna Han, here.
Borgo de Nor dress and cape in Tree of Life
Violet, rose, and coral oversized peonies and orchids are printed gorgeously throughout the crepe dress. The matching cape in silk chiffon truly made this look the stand-out that it was!
I love that Curt re-wears his custom tuxedo & dress shirt from our wedding, it makes the investment and the sentiment of the suit feel so special! He even re-wore his wedding shoes from Stubbs & Wooton.
I loved twirling my way through The Plaza Hotel in this Borgo de Nor dress and cape!
